The method comprises the following steps: acquiring signaling messages on each line of a mobile communication network, wherein the signaling information includes latitude and longitude information or cell information; analyzing the latitude and longitude information, the cell information, device IP and tunnel identifiers in each signaling message; implementing combination and association on the cell information as well as the latitude and longitude information which correspond to the same device IP and tunnel identifier respectively; and drawing a cell service coverage area map in accordance with the cell information as well as the latitude and longitude information which are subjected to combination and association. The method and system disclosed by the invention are combined with deep packet identification technologies, communication technologies, geography and other integrated technologies, can be applied to the analysis on coverage areas of base station cells, do not need manual tests nor evaluation and demonstration on the applicability of propagation models, and can also avoid model calibration and other complicated steps.
