A novel current control method for an active power filter is disclosed. The control method is based on an indirect current control strategy, that is, does not need to perform load current measurement and harmonic detection but to directly extracts the grid current in the grid side, and controls the grid current by using a proportional integral controller and a vector proportional integral controller in combination, thereby achieving harmonic compensation.
