Abstract

A barrier film laminate for a touch-sensing display includes a barrier layer, an optically clear adhesive layer, an optically clear polymer film, and a touch-sensing layer. The optically clear adhesive is disposed on a first surface of the barrier layer, and the optically clear polymer film is disposed on the adhesive layer on a side opposite the glass layer. The touch-sensing layer is disposed onthe polymer film on a side opposite the adhesive layer. A method for the manufacture of the barrier film laminates is also described. The barrier film laminates can be particularly useful as a component in a touch-sensing display.

Description

Background technique [0001] Touch electronic devices are the object of large-scale research and development, because such devices not only save space and are easy to carry, but also can be directly operated by users through fingers, stylus, etc., which is comfortable to use and very convenient. For example, personal digital assistants (PDAs), touch-sensitive mobile phones, portable notebook computers, etc. commonly used in the market utilize touch technology to be of interest. [0002] The display mode of an organic light emitting diode (OLED) display differs from that of a conventional LCD (liquid crystal display) in that it does not require a backlight and that the OLED is formed of an ultra-thin coating of organic material and a glass substrate. These organic materials can emit light when electric current is passed through them. In addition, OLEDs have low voltage requirements and their energy saving efficiency is high. Because of fast response, light weight, small thickn...
