Abstract

Autodeposition coating compositions that deposit uncured coatings, on metallic surfaces of a substrate, which are curable at oven temperatures of less than 130 DEG C, are provided as well as autodeposition methods, compositions and components for depositing such autodeposition coatings are provided. More particularly, the invention relates to autodeposition coatings that cure at temperatures lowerthan conventional autodeposition coatings, while achieving chemical and corrosion performance comparable to higher temperature cure autodeposition coatings, as well as being directed to autodeposition coating compositions possessing improved storage stability and coating thermal stability, and articles of manufacture having cured and uncured autodeposited coatings deposited thereon.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to autodeposition coatings curable at oven temperatures below 130° C. on metal surfaces of substrates, autodeposition coating compositions useful in the preparation of autodeposition coating baths for depositing such coatings, and Components thereof, and methods of making and using autodepositional coating compositions and coating baths, and articles made therefrom. More specifically, the present invention relates to autodeposition coatings that cure at lower temperatures than conventional autodeposition coatings, that provide chemical and corrosion performance comparable to high temperature cured autodeposition coatings; Stability and Coating Thermal Stability Autodeposition Coating Compositions, and Articles Having Deposited Thereon Cured and Uncured Autodeposition Coatings. Background technique [0002] Autodeposition has been commercially available on steel for over thirty years and is now well established for this us...
