Abstract

There is described herein an electrical connector for connection to a magnetic ignition coil for an internal combustion engine. The coil comprises a wire which has an insulating material covering andwhich is wound on a support element. The electrical connector comprises a contact element made of conductive material which can be coupled to the support element. The contact element has two flexiblewalls, facing one another and outwardly divergent and adapted to come into contact with the support element. A cutting element is situated on at least one of the flexible walls on the inner surface thereof which faces towards the support element, and is adapted for cutting into the insulating material covering of the wire. The connector further comprises a flexible sleeve which can be mounted above and around the contact element to retain the contact element on the support element. The flexible sleeve is situated above the contact element and is movable with respect to the contact element, after the contact element has been fitted over the support element, into a final operative position.
