The holographic element constructing method comprises the steps of using a mixed frequency information image which is obtained through superposing at least two characteristic images as a target image, wherein each characteristic image comprises high-frequency information which is obtained through performing high-pass filtering on different original images or low-frequency information that is obtained through performing low-pass filtering on the different original images; and according to the target image and the working wavelength of the selected polarized light, performing optimization designing of a geometric phase super-surface holographic element, and observing a characteristic image in a preset observation distance of the holographic reproduced image. According to the holographic element constructing method, the target image which comprises the high-frequency information and/or the low-frequency information is utilized, so that the characteristic pattern which comprises different frequency information can be obtained just through changing an observing distance, thereby supplying a new freedom for encryption of optical information.
