The control method adopted by the invention is as follows: dividing states of charge of the battery stacks into several areas, and updating different states of charge and discharge depths in different areas; sequentially giving active power instructions of the battery stacks in proportions according to the updated states of charge and the discharge depths; and meanwhile, setting an updating threshold of the states of charge and the discharge depths to avoid the frequent switching of energy storage power. By adopting the fast balance control method and device disclosed by the invention, the balance speed of the states of charge of the multiple battery stacks of the energy storage power station can be effectively improved, the operationcondition of the energy storage power station is improved, and the available rate of the energy storage power station is improved; and meanwhile, the switching of the energy storage power is reduced as much as possible, and the operation stability of the energy storage power station and the friendliness with a power grid are improved.
