Embodiment Construction
[0067] As previously stated, the present disclosure advantageously describes a radio assembly having modular radio modules and interconnections. Modularity advantageously allows easy scaling up of the radio assembly. For example, in one or more embodiments, a radio module with sixteen transmitters and sixteen receivers (16T16R radio module) communicates with a faceplate interface board (FIB) that provides 32 Antenna branch. In other words, the FIB design for the 16T16R will remain the same, but the openings for the other connectors will be covered by removable plastic tabs. The plastic tab will be pushed or snapped off to make room for an additional opto connector for the additional radio module. Updated the radio assembly to include another 16T16R radio module, increasing the number of transmitters / receivers to 32 using the same FIB, while adding another radio module and cables. Thus, the embodiments described herein allow for easy scaling.
[0068] In addition, the radio...
