The torsion refrigeration device comprises a servo motor, a stepping motor mechanism, a rotary disc mechanism, a circular ring mechanism, a conductive slip ring, a control device, a torsion material and a refrigeration and heat release separation support, wherein the rotary disc mechanism comprises afirst rotary disc and a second rotary disc; during torsion operation, the torsion refrigeration device is divided into an upper buffer area of an area a, a refrigeration area of an area d, a lower buffer area of an area c and a heat release area of an area b; the circumferential included angle between the area a and the area c is theta; and the circumferential included angle alpha between the area b and the area d is equal to 180-theta degrees. According to the torsion refrigeration device and the torsion refrigeration method thereof, periodic rotation is achieved through the servo motor, and meanwhile the periodic spiral twisting and untwisting processes of the torsion material are completed through driving of the stepping motor; meanwhile, the situation that heat release occurs in therefrigeration area or heat absorption occurs in the heat release area is avoided to the maximum extent, the torsion material is twisted forwards and reversely from the free state and then returns to the free state, and therefore the torsion refrigeration process is continuously conducted.
