Problems solved by technology

[0005] The above-mentioned methods all use the light-carrying pulse signal to detect the transmission delay, and then measure the optical fiber transmission time in the traditional time domain. However, the measurement accuracy of the current commercial timer can only be on the order of picoseconds or even tens of picoseconds.

Abstract

The invention provides an optical fiber delay change measuring device and method based on microwave photons, and the method comprises the steps: firstly obtaining a high-frequency optical microwave signal through an optical frequency comb technology, and then carrying out the transmission delay sensing of a to-be-measured optical fiber through the optical microwave signal; a microwave photon technology is used for carrying out phase detection on a sensed optical carrier microwave signal in an optical fiber to be detected and a reference signal, and the phase fluctuation of the optical carrier microwave signal can be caused by the delay change of the optical fiber to be detected, so that the measurement of the delay change of the optical fiber can be realized by monitoring the phase of the optical carrier microwave signal. The optical fiber delay change is the absolute phase difference of the optical microwave signal divided by the signal frequency, and the higher the frequency of the sensing signal is, the higher the measurement precision is. According to the invention, the time-delay measurement of the optical fiber is carried out from the time domain to the frequency domain, and the measurement precision is improved by dozens of times compared with that of a commercial timer.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the technical field of microwave photon time measurement, in particular to the field of measurement of fiber delay variation based on microwave photons. Background technique [0002] With the rapid development of optical fiber communication technology, the use of optical fiber for high-precision time synchronization is playing an increasingly important role in basic scientific research, astronomical observation, and national defense construction. However, high-precision measurement of fiber transit time is the basis for high-precision time synchronization. At present, there are two main types of optical fiber delay change measurement: time measurement based on two-way convection and time measurement based on round-trip delay. [0003] The first is based on two-way optical fiber delay measurement. At both ends of the optical fiber, firstly, the time scale signal is divided into two paths through a power divider, one path is use...
