Embodiment Construction

[0025] Liquid can be dispensed from the dispense head by actuating the movable member to open or close the outlet of the dispense head. Liquid (eg, hot melt adhesive) is supplied to the dispense head from a liquid source, moves through the dispense head, and is expelled from an outlet of the dispense head onto the substrate. The discharge rate and discharge pattern can be predetermined and controlled by the user, the electronic controller, or both. It should be understood that various discharge rates and discharge patterns can be achieved, and that different liquids can be discharged from the dispensing heads disclosed herein.

[0026] Movement of the movable part may be controlled by pressurized air received in the dispensing head from an air source. An electrically operated air supply may interact with the various air passages to direct the flow of pressurized air.

Abstract

A performance solenoid assembly is provided. In one example, an adhesive dispensing assembly has a dispenser and an air supply assembly. The dispenser receives the liquid material therein and discharges the liquid material onto the substrate. The air supply assembly receives pressurized air therein and directs the pressurized air to the dispenser to cause the liquid material to exit from the dispenser. The distributor has a first coupling and the air supply assembly has a second coupling which is coupled to the first coupling in order to fix the position of the distributor and the air supply assembly to each other. At least one of the first coupler and the second coupler is formed of a thermally insulating material that thermally insulates the dispenser and the air supply assembly from each other when the first coupler and the second coupler are coupled to each other.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims priority to U.S. Provisional Application No. 63 / 079,833, filed September 17, 2020, the entire contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference. technical field [0003] The present disclosure relates generally to apparatus and methods for dispensing liquids onto substrates, and more particularly to new designs of pneumatically actuated dispensing valves for dispensing hot melt adhesives. Background technique [0004] In existing pneumatically actuated liquid dispensing systems, such as those designed for dispensing liquid hot melt adhesives, pressurized air is typically used to actuate one or more components to cause the liquid to be dispensed onto the substrate. An air supply, such as an electrically operated solenoid valve, may be used to supply and switch the actuation air. When the solenoid is electrically activated to supply pressurized air to the liquid dispensing valve, the pressur...
