The invention relates to a thermal management system (200) for an electrical component, which system is capable of radiating heat during operation of the electrical component, in particular for an electrical energy storage module, comprising: at least one housing (2) for accommodating at least one electrical component, in particular a plurality of such housings arranged in parallel; at least one heat exchange plate (210) extending over at least part of the surface of the side of the housing, the at least one plate comprising at least one heat transfer fluid channel between a fluid inlet (211) and a fluid outlet (212) of the plate (210); a supply conduit configured to supply the heat transfer fluid to the plate via the fluid inlet of the plate and a discharge conduit configured to discharge the heat transfer fluid from the plate via the fluid outlet of the plate; a housing (300) defining a housing and housing the heat exchange plates and the supply and discharge conduits; a fluid collection tank (215) arranged to collect any fluid that may leak from the junctions between the fluid inlet and fluid outlet of the plate and the associated supply and discharge conduits so as to prevent said leaked fluid from falling into the bottom of the housing.
