Embodiment Construction

[0023] according to figure 1 , the circuit of a chip card 10 has two parts: the antenna and the chip. Chip 12 has an internal capacitance Cs14 derived from the capacitors used in the chip. This chip also has an electronic part 16 corresponding to the memory area and the processor. The chip 12 is connected to the antenna 18 through the circuit 10 . The antenna 18 has an inductor Ls22 which has a resistance Rs20.

[0024] figure 2 , 3 , 4 show the antenna after the three main steps of the method. The antenna consists of two coils connected in series and a printed capacitor. In the first step of this manufacturing method, if figure 2 As shown, both coils 24 and 26 are printed on a substrate 28 of insulating dielectric material. Also printed are two contact pads 30 and 32 for connecting the antenna to the chip, and the lower plate 34 of the capacitor. One end of the coil 26 is connected to the pole plate 34 and connected to the connecting piece 30 through the electric b...

Abstract

The invention thus concerns a coupling antenna connected to an electromagnetic wave transceiver device containing one or several integrated capacitors. This coupling antenna includes at least one screen printed turn on a support consisting of an insulating dielectric support and also includes a screen printed capacitor on the support, connected in parallel, thereby reducing the capacitance supplied by the capacitor(s) built into the device, so that the resulting capacitance forms a resonating circuit with the turn. The invention also concerns the fabrication process of such an antenna and the use of this antenna in a contactless or hybrid contact-contactless smart card.

Description

Technical field: [0001] The invention relates to a contactless transceiving system, in particular to a coupling antenna with a screen-printed capacitor, which is especially used for a contactless chip card or a contact-contactless alternate chip card. Background technique: [0002] Contactless chip cards are a system that is used more and more in several fields, for example in transport systems chip cards have been developed as payment devices, as is the case with electronic wallets (porte-monnais électronique). Many companies are also developing contactless chip cards to identify their employees. [0003] The information exchange between the contactless smart card and the corresponding reading device takes place by means of a long-range electromagnetic coupling between an antenna placed in the contactless smart card and a second antenna placed in the reader. In order to compile, store and process this information, said card has a chip or electronic module connected to said...
