Abstract

A liquid crystal layer is provided between a pair of substrates, one of which is provided with a pixel region including a TFT and a light-shielding layer in which an opening portion is formed, and a semiconductor layer constituting the TFT overlaps with the light-shielding layer and extends along the opening.
