A remote maintenance method and device for straight-forward station is disclosed. A wireless communication module is arranged in the straight-forward station for transmitting or receiving radio signals via its up or down channel. A wireless communication link is created between network and straight-forward station. Its operation steps include receiving RF signal by said module from downlink of straight-forward station, processing to obtain maintenance data, sending it to maintenance unit for maintaining straight-forward station, processing the resultant maintenance data by the module to become up RF signals, and transmitting it to base station via uplink. Its advantage is low cost.
