Embodiment Construction

[0023] refer to figure 2 and image 3 , an assembly frame for batch production of optical communication devices, comprising a square frame body 5, the upper surface of which is provided with a plurality of U-shaped notches 51, and the U-shaped notches 51 are arranged in matrix rows and columns, and are suitable for receiving silicon bases 4, one of which is shown in figure 1 , the U-shaped notches 51 each have a flat bottom surface, and inclined side walls surround the flat bottom surface to form a trapezoidal cross section. In order to keep the silicon base 4 and the individual bottom surface of the U-shaped notch 51, a plurality of vacuum holes 52 are vertically constructed through the frame body 5 and communicate with the U-shaped notch respectively, thereby applying a vacuum to each silicon base. seat.

[0024] The frame body 5 is preferably made of silicon. The frame body 5 may have a size of about 12.7 cm x 12.7 cm to hold about 1000 silicon bases 4 .

Abstract

A jig for the batch production of optical communication apparatuses includes a jig body whose upper surface is provided with a plurality of U-shaped recesses arranged in a matrix array to receive silicon bases each carrying optical devices and a plurality of vacuum holes vertically formed through the jig body, to communicate with the respective bottom surfaces of the U-shaped recesses. The silicon bases received by the U-shaped recesses are held onto the bottom surfaces thereof when a vacuum is applied thereto through the vacuum holes. A method using the jig enables batch production by simultaneously processing many silicon bases.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to an assembly frame for batch production of optical communication devices and a batch production method using the assembly frame. Specifically, the present invention relates to a mounting frame with a structure capable of holding a plurality of silicon bases thereon, and batch processing of the silicon bases, thereby enabling mass production of optical communication devices. Background technique [0002] Optical communication devices are usually constructed by connecting optical devices, such as laser diodes or photodiodes, to optical fiber transmission lines (hereinafter referred to as "optical fibers"). In manufacturing the optical communication device, one optical device is connected to the optical fiber, respectively aligned with the other to obtain light transmission efficiency. Alignment of optical devices and fibers is achieved using one of two basic methods. These are active alignment and passive alignment. [0003] In...
