Abstract

A Galois field multiply/multiply-add/multiply-accumulate system (10) comprising a multiplier circuit for multiplying two polynomials with coefficients over a Galois field to obtain a product; a responsive multiplier circuit , a Galois field linear transformation circuit that predicts the modulo remainder of the polynomial product to an irreducible polynomial; used to provide a set of coefficients for the Galois field linear transformer circuit to predict the modulo remainder for a predetermined irreducible polynomial and a Galois field adder circuit that adds the product of the multiplier circuit to the third polynomial with coefficients in the Galois field to perform the multiplication and addition operations in a single cycle.
