Abstract

The present invention discloses porous polymer ultrafiltration or micropore filtration membranes containing Halar (poly(ethylene chlorotrifluoroethylene)) and related compounds and their preparation methods without using toxic solvents. Preferred solvents, coating agents and pore formers are ethyl citrate or triacetin. Membranes may be in the form of hollow fibers or flat sheets, and may include other agents to improve membrane properties such as hydrophilic / hydrophobic balance. Leachable agents can also be introduced into the membrane.
