Similarly, the cover sole 1 extends lengthwise to a point somewhat beyond the front and rear-most portions of the footwear to be isolated from a floor surface. A typical piece of footwear is shown in broken lines at F in place on the cover sole. It is to be noted that the side margins 4 of the cover, when applied to footwear, are upwardly inclined, as later described, to confine any dirt or other debris or contaminant.
