Abstract

A powder-cored welding wire for gas shielded arc welding of high tensile strength steel containing 0.04 to 0.11 mass % of C, 0.40 to 0.75 mass % of Si, 1.30 to 2.50 mass % of Mn, 0.10 to 2.50 mass % of Ni, 0.10 to 1.00% by mass of Cr, 0.10 to 1.00% by mass of Mo, 0.06 to 0.30% by mass of Ti, not less than 90% by mass of Fe, and not more than 0.0150% by mass of N. The content of these elements satisfies the following formula: F(x)=-576.9[C]+34.1[Si]+80.1[Mn]+1.5[Ni]-22.8[Cr]-6.8[Mo]-83.1[Ti]≥100 . A cored wire having a test stress higher than 620 MPa imparts good crack resistance at an extremely low temperature of about -60° C. and good low-temperature toughness to the weld metal, and also has excellent welding workability.
