Problems solved by technology

Unfortunately, in this method, long-term storage of fabrics is not possible since the resinous finish is applied to the entire fabric in an unreacted state
In addition, there is the disadvantage that if the fabric is wrinkled during finishing or seaming, the wrinkles tend to remain permanently
Although this method addresses the disadvantages of the post-cure method described above, seam wrinkling is noticeable and the resulting fabric has a significantly poorer appearance

Embodiment 1

[0044] Plain weave produced from polyester / cotton=65wt% / 35wt% blended staple fiber yarn (50 densities of 148 ends / inch) finished with precured resin s Warp, 80 at a density of 70 picks / inch s / 2 weft) fabric, through ordinary shirt sewing operations, to produce the upper front part of a starched shirt with pockets sewn thereon.

[0045] Using a small commercial brush, apply the resin finish along the seam of the pocket as shown in Figure 1, 5 mm to the left and 5 mm to the right of the seam (a total width of 1 cm). Referring to FIG. 1 , which is a schematic diagram showing the upper front body portion of the fabric, the pocket 2 is sewn to the upper front body 1 with seams 3 .

[0046] A resin finish was prepared by adding water to chemicals having the resin formulation shown in Table 1 and bringing the volume to 100 ml.

Embodiment 2

[0063] Except for 100% cotton plain weave (148 ends / inch density 50 s Warp, 80 at a density of 70 picks / inch s / 2 weft) fabrics were treated in the same manner as in Example 1, and then the effect of preventing seam wrinkling was evaluated. Table 5 shows the results.

Abstract

Seam puckering on a sewn product made of cellulosic fibers, synthetic fibers and / or animal fibers can be prevented from occurring by simply applying a (meth)acrylate resin finish and / or a polyester resin finish to the seams on the sewn product, then hot pressing the seam. The addition of an acidic catalyst, a polyether compound, or a combination of a cellulose-reactive resin finish with an acidic catalyst to the (meth)acrylate finish and / or polyester resin finish provides a better seam pucker preventing effect on cellulosic fibers than do existing cellulose-reactive resin finishes.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a method of preventing seam wrinkling on seamed products. The invention also relates to a seamed product obtained by this method in which seam wrinkling is prevented from occurring. Background technique [0002] Seams in seamed products such as clothing are usually closed with a sewing machine. When clothes are sewn, sometimes a wavy deformation called seam wrinkling occurs at the seams, thereby detracting from the appearance of the clothes. When seam wrinkles occur during sewing, the wrinkled seams can be smoothed and flattened by a process such as ironing so that deformation is not noticeable. However, subsequent washing of the garment can cause it to return to its original deformed state, allowing seam puckering to reappear. Sometimes washing even makes the seam wrinkle worse than right after the seam is seamed. Such seam wrinkling, especially after washing, is a major problem affecting the appearance of garments...
