Embodiment Construction

[0029] Methods and systems are designed to remove, correct, modify or replace events that have been recorded in an interlocking tree network data store. As with any data structure, it may be necessary to remove or in some way modify the information contained within the KStore. In some implementations, a history of removals or other modifications may be preserved. In other implementations, history may not be preserved. The determination that an alteration is desired can be achieved using any detection technique widely known to those skilled in the art. During such a step, an administrator, an authorized user, or some automated process may determine that the information recorded within the K-structure is incorrect, out of date, or otherwise needs to be changed.

[0030] Any such operation performed on an interlocking tree network data store may be broadly referred to as an interlocking tree network data store alteration. The modification of the interlocking tree data storage ...

Abstract

A method for updating a KStore including a K path having a subcomponent node and a root node wherein the subcomponent node has a pointer pointing to a root node and the root node has a pointer pointing to a subcomponent node includes determining a K path representing a sequence to be altered to provide a determined K path and altering at least one of (i) a subcomponent node of the determined K path, or (ii) a root node having a pointer pointing to a subcomponent node of the determined K path. Altering can include maintaining K structure for a history or completely removing a K path. Altering can include altering a subcomponent node of the determined Kpath. Memory allocated for storing the altered subcomponent node can be deallocated if the node is completely removed.

Description

1. Technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of data storage, in particular to the field of interlocking tree data storage. 2. Background technology [0002] Detecting and removing and / or correcting contaminated data (ie, incorrect, outdated, redundant, incomplete, or malformed data) of a database is commonly referred to as "data cleansing," also known as data scrubbing. Methods of cleaning data in traditional relational databases are quite common in the prior art. For example, US Patent No. 6,564,215 entitled "Update support in database content management" teaches a method of updating data objects held in a data store external to a data management system (DBMS). A DBMS provides a computer operating environment in which data is typically organized in tables such that the rows and columns of the tables are related to each other. US Patent No. 6,845,434 entitled "Method for updatingparametric data for use in data management system" teaches a similar method wh...
