The refrigeration unit was set at -29°C, the air temperature in the unit was -23°C and the air in the store was 21°C-24°C at 40-50% RH. Under these conditions, no frosting was observed on the door to which the anti-frost material was applied, even after 1 minute of opening. Doors without frost protection material will frost in 10-15 seconds. No difference was observed between doors that were heated and had an anti-frost film assembly, and those doors that were not heated but had an anti-frost film assembly. This would allow an average store with 100-140 doors to operate without heated doors, saving the store approximately 60 amps.
