The sliver-dropping proof thermoplastic acrylic resin uses the source materials with the following weight portions: 25 to 30 portions of dimethylbenzene, 7 to 10 portions of butanol, 5 to 10 portions of butyl acetate, 45 to 55 portions of methyl methacrylate, 5 to 15 portions of hydroxyl propyl methacrylate, 5 to 10 portions of butyl methacrylate, 2 to 4 portions of functional monomer and 1 to 2 portions of esterification catalyst. The esterification catalyst is dibutyltin dilaurate. The functional monomer is 2-acrylamide-2-methyl propylene sulfonic acid sodium. The sliver-dropping proof thermoplastic acrylic resin of the invention has the advantages that the sliver-dropping proofing effect is realized without adding sliver-dropping proof accessory ingredient.
