[0059] Raw materials obtained by mixing iron with graphite and other elements at the ratios shown in Table 1 were melted at 1380°C. The molten material was injected into the mold including the cavity and after 120 minutes the injected material was quenched in water at 920°C. Then, hot rolling, cold rolling, drawing and other processes are repeated to manufacture a wire material with a diameter of about 0.2mm. The wire material was subjected to wire head processing to produce a cup-shaped electrode substrate having an outer diameter of 1.7 mm and a length of 5 mm.

[0060] The formed substrate was subjected to nickel plating in a Watts bath to form a rust preventive film with a thickness of 0.1 μm. Thus an electrode was obtained.

[0061] The formed electrodes were placed in the atmosphere (humidity ranging from 40% to 60%) for 72 hours. Inspect for rust and evaluate the results according to the following criteria. Table 1 shows the evaluation results.

Abstract

The cold cathode fluorescence lamp of the invention can decrease rust quantity on electrodes of ferrous material or ferroalloy material, can provide an actual level work with low cost and long servicelife, can have excellent sputtering resistance with strong exerted current, can decrease the quantity of formed amalgam with small damage to environment and can be efficiently manufactured. The coldcathode fluorescence lamp of the invention comprises a transparent tube which comprises a fluorescence layer disposed on the inner wall surface, contains inert gas and mercury and the two ends of thetransparent tube are sealed by a sealing element. The invention further comprises an electrode which is disposed nearby two ends in the transparent tube and a lead which is connected to the electrodeand passes through the sealing element. Each electrode comprises a base which is made of ferrous material or ferroalloy material and a rust-preventing film arranged on the surface of the base. The rust-preventing film contains nickel or / and chromic.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a cold-cathode fluorescent lamp, and more particularly, to a cold-cathode fluorescent lamp capable of reducing mercury consumption, preventing electrodes from rusting during manufacturing, and being efficiently manufactured. Background technique [0002] Cold cathode fluorescent lamps are characterized by high brightness, excellent color rendering, long life, low power consumption and other properties. Therefore, they are often used as backlights used in televisions, computers and other liquid crystal display devices, fax machines and Image reading light sources in other similar devices, eraser light sources in copiers, and various display purposes. Such cold cathode fluorescent lamps operate as follows: a voltage is applied to electrodes arranged near both ends of a transparent tube made of glass or any other suitable material and containing an inert gas therein in a gas-tight manner and mercury. A small number of el...
