Embodiment Construction

[0036] figure 1 is a simplified schematic diagram of one embodiment of a multi-chamber bag for enteral nutrition according to the present invention. In this embodiment, the multi-chamber bag according to the invention is a polymer bag.

[0037] In this embodiment, the bag 1 consists of two flexible synthetic material films 2, 3 placed one above the other, which are welded at their edges with a peripheral weld seam 4, and figure 1 In the position shown, the weld seam 4 has a lower section 4A and an upper section 4B as well as two side sections 4C and 4D. However, the bag can also consist of a tube of film welded on the upper side and the lower side.

[0038] The bag is divided into a lower chamber 5 and an upper chamber 6 . The volume of the lower chamber 5 is larger than that of the upper chamber 6 . For example the lower chamber can hold 1500ml of fluid and the upper chamber can hold 500ml of fluid. The two chambers 5 , 6 are separated from each other by an inseparable w...

Abstract

The invention relates to a multi-chamber bag for use with enteral nutrition, particularly a polymer multi-chamber bag, comprising at least two chambers (5, 6) that are separated from each other. At least one of the at least two chambers comprises an enteral nutrient solution (A), while at least another one of the at least two chambers comprises a fluid (B) for covering the fluid requirement. The enteral nutrient solution in the one chamber has a higher energy content than the fluid for balancing the fluid requirement in the other chamber. Furthermore, the invention relates to an arrangement comprising a multi-chamber bag of said kind, wherein the multi-chamber bag, together with a transfer system (10), is enclosed in a packaging (20) in a sterile way.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a multi-chamber bag for enteral nutrition, which contains enteral nutrition solution. Background technique [0002] In internal medicine, a distinction is made between enteral nutrition and parenteral nutrition. The difference between parenteral nutrition and enteral nutrition is that parenteral nutrition bypasses the gastrointestinal tract. Therefore, the difference between enteral nutrition solution and parenteral nutrition solution basically lies in the different components. [0003] Enteral nutrition solutions must meet requirements regarding energy and nutrient content. It usually contains protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals. Enteral nutrition solutions may also contain dietary fiber. [0004] Industrially manufactured enteral nutrition solutions are supplied as tube feeding nutrients in rigid or flexible containers. Bottles or bags are used as containers. The container has a connection for connecting...
