Abstract

Provided are a method for processing excrement whereby nucleic acids can be collected at a high accuracy from an excrement sample, and a processing container. A container (1) for processing excrement which comprises an excrement-collecting tool (100), a suspension-holding part (110) and a processing solution-holding part (120) and in which solutions for preparing an excrement sample consisting of a suspension (S) and an excrement-processing solution (P) are respectively held in a suspension-holding container (111) and a processing solution-holding container (121). In this container, an excrement sample (E) is first mixed with the suspension (S) and thus suspended therein. Next, the processing solution-holding container (121) is pressed at the lower part so as to release a sealant (131) into the suspension-holding container (111), thereby mixing the suspended excrement suspension with the excrement-processing solution (P). Since a treatment for stabilizing nucleic acids is conducted after performing suspension, it is possible to obtain undegraded nucleic acids at a high accuracy.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a stool treatment method and a stool treatment container for efficiently recovering nucleic acid from stool. [0002] This application claims the priority of Japanese Patent Application No. 2008-125143 for which it applied in Japan on May 12, 2008, and uses the content here. Background technique [0003] Today, as in Europe and the United States, the number of patients with colon cancer in Japan is also increasing rapidly year by year, and colon cancer has become one of the top cancer-related deaths. The reason for this is believed to be that the eating habits of the Japanese have changed to a European-American style with meat as the center. Specifically, about 60,000 people suffer from colon cancer every year. In terms of the number of deaths by organ, colon cancer ranks third after stomach cancer and lung cancer, and it is expected to increase further in the future. On the other hand, unlike other cancers, colon ca...
