Abstract

The multipurpose damper comprises an outer connecting plate, inner separating plates, inner fixing plates, outer fixing plates, hyperelastic shape memory alloy wires, and the like, wherein the inner fixing plates are respectively arranged in eight adjacent corners of a small cube; the outer fixing plates are respectively arranged at eight corners of a big cube; correspondingly, the hyperelastic shape memory alloy wires are fixed by a locking nut, an adjusting screw and an adjusting nut between the inner and outer fixing plates; eight inner fixing plates and eight outer fixing plates are in skew symmetry; eight inner separating plates and eight sets of hyperelastic shape memory alloy wires are also in skew symmetry; and the hyperelastic shape memory alloy wires are arranged at eight corners and are skew pulled to a central point. The multipurpose damper has a function of automatically resetting along horizontal, vertical and twisting directions and can be used for effectively protecting the building structure when earthquake and wind vibration occur.
