Abstract

The invention relates to a method for gluing two substrates together, wherein one substrate is coated with a layer of an aqueous adhesive containing dispersions from chlorinated polyolefins and additives having a pH of 10 to 13. An activator solution is applied to the first or second substrate in a subsequent step, wherein the activator solution contains substances comprising acid groups, and gluing the coated surfaces together using light pressure. The invention describes a 2-part adhesive consisting of a storage-stable aqueous adhesive dispersion containing 25 to 50% by weight chlorinated polyolefins, 5 to 30% by weight additional polymers, and additives and water having a pH value of 9 to 13 and an activator solution as a second component, wherein the activator solution contains carboxylic acids, sulfonic acids, phosphonic acids, polymers comprising carboxylic acid or sulfonic acid groups, inorganic acid salts or Lewis acids, and water or organic solvents.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method for bonding substrates using aqueous adhesives based on chlorinated polyolefins, wherein at least one substrate has a corresponding adhesive layer and the adhesive is provided with a further activator layer. Background technique [0002] Solvent-containing adhesives based on chloroprene are known. In this context, the binder is applied as a solution or dispersion, and the solvent can then evaporate. This mode of application is time-consuming and the solvent content does not meet current environmental requirements. Aqueous binders such as chloroprene dispersions are also known. In this context, various agents are used to adjust or lower the pH of the binder dispersion. [0003] WO 98 / 53019 describes aqueous adhesives based on polychloroprene comprising boric acid. In this scenario, the pH is set between 7-9.5. These adhesives are coated on and then bond the substrates. [0004] WO 01 / 77248 describes aqueous adhesi...
