The technical parameters are that the effective using range of roller diameter of a working roller of a roughing mill is 1020-1120mm, and the roller distribution rule is that diameter of an upper working roller is (0-6)mm larger than that of a lower working roller; and parameters in a widening stage of the roughing mill are that largest rolling force is 8500KN, largest torque is 3200KNm, largest pressing down quantity is 40mm, steel biting speed is (1-2)m/s, and rolling speed is (2.5-4.5)m/s. At conditions of the device and set parameters, widening generally requires 3-6 times according to size of the widening ratio; SKI parameter is set to be +8 in first widening, and the rolling speed is linear speed; and range of a second time is set to be +5-+8. The method has the advantages of reducing uneven upper wide and lower narrow deformation of the edge portion of a steel plate, achieving good control on the shape of the edge portion of the steel plate, accordingly being capable of controlling cutting deformation of the steel plate and improving yield of the steel plate.
