The cable line fault positioning method comprises the following steps of (1) setting an overflow threshold valve for line zero sequence current of every section of a cable, setting a inductance coefficient for sheath grounding current of every section of the cable and measuring the line zero sequence current and the sheath grounding current of every section of the cable; (2) judging fault positions, judging the section of the cable to be faulted when the line zero sequence current of the section of the cable is larger than the set overcurrent threshold value and judging the sheath grounding current of the section of the cable is larger than a product of the sensing coefficient and the line zero sequence current of the section of the cable. The invention also relates to a cable line fault positioning device and system applying the above method. According to the device and the system in combination with the method, the fault position of the cable line can be rapidly and accurately positioned, the fault corrective maintenance efficiency can be improved, and safe and reliable operation of the power grid is guaranteed.
