Embodiment Construction

[0016] exist figure 1 Among them, the cylinder block is denoted by numeral 1, and the crankcase is denoted by numeral 2. The two can be integrally formed as in the previous embodiment, but can also be separate parts screwed together. Here too, the top part 3 is integrally formed with the cylinder block 1 . The centerlines of at least two cylinders are indicated with reference numeral 4 . Each cylinder is made of cylinder wall 5 and cooling water jacket 6. There is cooling water chamber 7 therebetween.

[0017] The crankcase 2 basically consists of side walls 9 on both sides (see figure 2 ), end wall 12 and at least one partition 8 between each cylinder. At the bottom it ends with a boundary 13 containing the center line 10 of the crankshaft (not shown in the figure), from which the upper half 11 of the crankshaft bearing also begins.

Abstract

The invention relates to an internal combustion engine having inline type cylinders in a cylinder block (1) and a crankcase (2). The crankcase (2) includes separating walls (8) between cylinders with crankshaft bearings (11). The two sides of each cylinder in the crankcase (2) are respectively provided longitudinal oil distribution channels (18, 19). Pressure oil is conveyed to the crankshaft bearings (11) and other consumption devices via the oil distribution channels (18, 19). To ensure good oil supplying to all the consumption devices when the manufacturing cost is lowest, the two oil distribution channels (18, 19) are connected with each other through a transverse channel (23) extending in the separating walls (8). The transverse channel (23) has been manufactured in casting of the crankcase (2). A portion, connected to the oil distribution channels (18, 19), of a cross section of the transverse channel (23) is roughly circular and is flat in the transverse center (25).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to an internal combustion engine with in-line cylinders in the cylinder block and in the crankcase, comprising partitions between the cylinders with crankshaft bearings, wherein longitudinal oil distribution channels are provided on both sides of the cylinders in the crankcase, by means of which The oil distribution channel delivers pressure oil to crankshaft bearings or other consumers. The other consumers mentioned are, for example, nozzles for piston cooling. Background technique [0002] An internal combustion engine of this type is known from the patent document DE19933363A1. The internal combustion engine has two oil distribution channels, one on each side, which are connected to the pressurized side of the oil pump via respective supply lines. This requires at least one pressure feed line which is fixed externally on the cylinder block. This fastening is usually achieved by means of screw joints, the sealing of which is ...
