[0018] In a first embodiment, the High Altitude Magnetically Levitated Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (HAM-VAWT) system of the present invention includes one or two magnetically levitated VAWTs permanently affixed to a helium transport vehicle structure in which the Monitor and record all weather-related indicators (such as ambient temperature, barometric pressure, wind speed, etc.) at the weather station controlling the elevation of the VAWT system. Data from the weather station will command the helium transport to either ascend or descend to self-calibrate itself in the optimum wind conditions present at the VAWT design wind speed. Wind flowing into the main (larger) VAWT 7 will rotate its blades to efficiently produce the desired rated electrical power. The system of the present invention is designed so that it can be operated remotely.
