The sterilization composition comprises effective components including the efficient metalaxyl-M and the benthiavalicarb-isopropyl, which are compounded in a binary manner, wherein the mass ratio of the efficient metalaxyl-M to benthiavalicarb-isopropyl is (1 to 40): (40 to 1); the total mass of the effective components including the efficient metalaxyl-M to benthiavalicarb-isopropyl in a preparation accounts for 1 percent to 80 percent of the mass of the whole preparation, and the balance is auxiliary components allowable and acceptable in pesticides. The sterilization composition provided by the invention has dosage forms including missible oil, a suspending agent, wettable powder, water dispersible granules, emulsion in water and micro-emulsion. The sterilization composition can be used for effectively controlling the late blight of potatoes and tomatoes, downy mildew of grapes, downy mildew of cucurbits and parasitic downy mildew.
