A sterilization composition containing picarbutrazox and an amide type sterilizing agent and applications thereof are disclosed. Effective active components include a first active component that is the picarbutrazox and a second active component that is one of cuppricnonylphenolsulfonate, benthiavalicarb-isopropyl, valifenalate and hymexazol. The weight ratio of the first active component to the second active component is 1:80-60:1, preferably 1:60-40:1. The composition can be prepared into agriculturally acceptable dosage forms including wettable powder, water dispersible granules, suspensions, suspoemulsions, emulsions in water, microemulsions, micro-capsule suspensions, micro-capsule suspension-suspension agents, dispersible oil suspensions, and dry type suspensions.
