The vehicle distance anti-collision early warning device comprises an information acquisition unit, an alarm unit, a data processing unit and a power supply circuit. The distance between the current vehicle and a nearest vehicle ahead is acquired through setting a directional antenna, and acceleration, speed and direction information of the vehicle is transmitted and received through wireless transmitting and receiving terminals. The whole device is simple in structure, the directional antenna is integrated ingeniously, a reading range is limited, and data transmission between vehicles is enabled to be accurate and fast. The early warning method is characterized in that safe vehicle distance judgment is carried out through the data processing unit according to the driving direction of the vehicle, and the alarm unit is triggered to give out alarm signals if the distance between the current vehicle and the nearest vehicle ahead is less than the minimum safe vehicle distance between two vehicles. The vehicle distance anti-collision early warning device is additionally provided with the directional antenna and the wireless receiving terminal, and enables distance measurement to be more accurate by being combined with an installation position of the wireless transmitting terminal. A defect that the existing anti-collision early warning device is affected by the external environment is effectively avoided.
