Embodiment

[0028] A weavable resistance sensor for composite materials, the resistance sensor is composed of glass fiber bundles and a CNT coating, the glass fiber bundles are the carrier of the sensor, and the CNT coating is the body of the sensor, The CNT coating is combined with the glass fiber bundles through a dip coating process to form the braidable resistance sensor.

[0029] A method for processing a weavable resistance sensor for composite materials, mainly including three steps:

[0030] 1) Combination of CNT coating and glass fiber bundles;

[0031] 2) Preparation of CNT coated fibers and fiber woven fabrics;

[0032] 3) Forming of composite materials based on fiber weaving.

[0033] The step 1) is realized by a continuous roll-to-roll processing method. This processing method requires a set of traction equipment, which includes a computer-controlled stepping motor and a series of pulleys. The working process is: through the stepping motor and the pulley block, the fiber ...

Abstract

The invention discloses a knittable resistance sensor used for a composite and a processing method thereof. The resistance sensor is composed of a glass fiber bundle and a CNT coating, wherein the CNT coating and the glass fiber bundle are combined together by adopting a dip coating process to form the knittable resistance sensor. The processing method comprises the following three steps: combining the CNT coating and the glass fiber bundle, knitting CNT coating fibers and fiber knitted cloth, and moulding the composite based on the fiber knitted cloth. The sensor can provide a precise and quantitative sensing signal for monitoring various physical and chemical states, comprising resin flow direction, resin front end position, gelation time as well as curing degree and curing rate at any moment, in a composite manufacturing stage; large-area coverage and monitoring on the composite can be realized by knitting multiple sensors in fabric; and the sensor also can provide monitoring on various strains and failure modes in a service stage of the composite.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the technical field of automatic signal sensing, and in particular relates to a braidable resistance sensor for composite materials and a processing method thereof. The sensor can be used to monitor the health status of composite material structures. Background technique [0002] Fiber Reinforced Polymer / Plastic (FRPs) has been used as an important structural material in various applications such as civil and military aircraft, jet engines, wind power blades, and oil and gas pipelines. In the past ten years, new FRPs with self-awareness, identification, quantification and determination of their own health status have been researched and developed at home and abroad. At present, different sensing technologies or methods can be used for Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) of FRPs at different stages of their life cycle. For example, smart fabrics (SMARTweave), optical fibers, Time-Domain Reflectometry (TDR), thermometers, ultraso...
