Abstract

The invention discloses a twisted pair equivalent circuit and a simulation method thereof. An equivalent circuit model is built for 1GE and 10GE twisted pairs; and a PCB level simulator circuit is designed and used in an Ethernet test environment. The simulator circuit adopts eight parallel passive branches to replace 4 pairs of twisted pairs. An insertion loss value of the circuit is changed by adjusting circuit components on a single main branch; a return loss value of each line pair is changed by adjusting resistance and capacitance between two main branches; and crosstalk between each line pair is simulated by using resistance and capacitance serial connection. For the twisted pairs of different lengths and different cable types, the same equivalent circuit model structure is adopted, and key characteristic parameters are fit by adjusting component parameters. The equivalent circuit model is kept consistent with a cable test result in performance indexes such as insertion loss, return loss, near-end crosstalk, characteristic impedance and the like; and data can be normally output.
