The equipment comprises a draining conveyor, a first dehydrator, a spiral conveyor, a crusher, a second dehydrator, a feeding pump, breeding boxes, a discharge conveyor, a screening machine and a dryer. The draining conveyor is successively connected to the first dehydrator, the spiral conveyor, the crusher, the second dehydrator and an inlet of the feeding pump; an outlet of the feeding pump separately feeds treated kitchen waste into a feed inlet of at least one breeding box, and a discharge port of the at least one breeding box is successively connected to the discharge conveyor, the screening machine and the dryer. The method comprises the following steps of: feeding black soldier fly larvae which are 4 days old with kitchen waste for 6 days by using the equipment;, then successively screening and drying the black soldier fly larvae, and quantitatively adding the kitchen waste by using the equipment of treating kitchen waste by using black soldier flies.
