According to the method disclosed by the invention, when a fault occurs at an external grid, the power plant set is able to abandon all externally power supply loads instantaneously and disconnect the external grid, the steam set performs the coasting operation and keeps a vacuum state, and the gas turbine does not stop working, thereby keeping auxiliary power supply of thepower plant; and after grid fault elimination, the set carries the plant electric load and is connected with the external grid quickly and effectively to provide power for the system, so that other sets in the grid are activated rapidly and thus power is provided for the users again.
