The invention discloses a lifting control method and device for a tundish car of a continuous casting machine. The lifting control device is characterized in that a PLC (programmable logic controller)is connected with frequency converters in a communication manner; the frequency converters are connected to lifting motors; the lifting motors are connected to the tundish car through lifting assemblies; and the lifting assemblies comprise speed reducers. The lifting control method comprises the following steps that the tundish car is controlled to rise/fall according to an instruction of the PLC; the rotating parameters of the lifting motors and the diameters of the speed reducers are acquired by the PLC; the instantaneous moving speed of the tundish car is calculated by the PLC according tothe rotating parameters and the diameters of the speed reducers; the real-time moving distance of the tundish car within each acquisition time period is calculated by the PLC according to the instantaneous moving speed; and the calculation results of the real-time moving distance are accumulated and then the total moving distance is acquired. According to the lifting control method and device, the PLC is connected with the frequency converters in a communication manner and kept from a high-temperature environment on the site, so that the tundish car can be more accurately positioned in real time, the lifting position of the tundish car can be more accurately controlled, and the plate blank production quality and the entire production efficiency can be improved.
