Embodiment Construction

[0028] As required, detailed embodiments of the invention are disclosed herein; however, it is to be understood that the disclosed embodiments are merely exemplary of the invention which may be embodied in various and alternative forms. The figures are not necessarily to scale; some features may be exaggerated or minimized to show details of particular components. Therefore, specific structural and functional details disclosed herein are not to be interpreted as limiting, but merely as a representative basis for teaching one skilled in the art to variously employ the present invention.

[0029] Electromagnetic microphones can use magnets to generate magnetic flux in an air gap. The voice coil can be placed in the air gap. The voice coil may have a cylindrically wound conductor. An audio amplifier is electrically connected to the voice coil to provide an electrical signal corresponding to a specific current flow to the voice coil. The electrical signal and magnetic field gen...

Abstract

A loudspeaker real-time state variable prediction system may include a loudspeaker having a voice coil and a magnet, and a non-linear excursion model configured to estimate non-linear excursion of theloudspeaker. The system may further include a thermal model configured to utilize thermal parameters and frequency based on at least one thermal property of the loudspeaker, and a gain adjustment thermal limiter configured to apply a gain reduction an incoming audio signal to protect the loudspeaker from thermal overload.

Description

technical field [0001] A system for real-time state variable prediction of a loudspeaker with constraints and linear compensation is disclosed herein. Background technique [0002] Various methods and systems have been developed to protect loudspeakers with digital signal processing (DSP). Various models have been developed to characterize the nonlinearity of loudspeakers. The main source of these nonlinearities is the force factor B l (x), stiffness K ms (x) and inductance L g (x). Existing loudspeaker limiters may limit peak or RMS voltage, but lack proper information, including full thermal and excursion models. These loudspeaker limiters can be overly cautious in limiting and thereby preventing the loudspeaker from performing at the maximum output it is capable of. Contents of the invention [0003] A loudspeaker parameter prediction system may include: a loudspeaker having a voice coil and a magnet; and a nonlinear excursion model configured to estimate a Nonli...
