Embodiment Construction

[0055] Advantageous embodiments of the floor cleaner according to the invention are discussed below, with which advantageous embodiments of the method according to the invention can be carried out.

[0056] figure 1 A floor cleaner according to the invention, designated with reference numeral 10 , is shown in a schematic plan view. The floor cleaner 10 is designed to be self-propelled and self-steering and allows for autonomous cleaning of the floor surface 12 .

[0057] exist figure 1 In the example shown in , the ground surface 12 is divided into two ground surface regions 14 and 16 with different ground types. For example, the floor area 14 has a plastic coating, for example made of PVC. The floor area 16 is, for example, a wooden floor.

[0058] Floor Cleaner 10 ( figure 1 and 3 ) includes a housing 18 in which a control unit 20 is accommodated. The travel mechanism 22 , which can be controlled by the control unit 20 , comprises two drive wheels via which the floor ...

Abstract

The invention relates to a floor-cleaning appliance that comprises at least one cleaning unit (24) for cleaning a floor surface (12) and an optical detection device (28), which can be used to determine a floor type. To provide a floor-cleaning appliance (10; 80) of this kind that enables a more reliable determination of the floor type, the invention proposes that the detection device (28) is designed as a spectroscopy device (30) or comprises same, which enables the floor type to be determined based on a spectrum (58, 60, 62, 64) of the floor surface (12) captured in reflection. The inventionfurther relates to a method for cleaning a floor.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a floor cleaner comprising at least one cleaning unit for cleaning a floor surface and an optical detection device with which the type of floor can be determined. [0002] Furthermore, the invention also relates to a method for cleaning floor surfaces using a floor cleaner. Background technique [0003] In floor cleaners for autonomous cleaning of floors, in particular self-propelled and self-steering floor cleaners, it is known to detect the floor type in conjunction with an optical detection device. For example, DE 10 2013 113 426 A1 describes the creation of photographic photographs of the ground surface which are evaluated by means of image processing for the purpose of ascertaining the ground type. It has been found that the determination of the ground type using photographic images is often subject to errors due to circumstances such as the incidence of light and the associated scattering and reflection on the ground sur...
