Problems solved by technology

[0023] However, the corrections made in the X and Y directions are not optimal
[0024] Furthermore, the proposed process does not allow optimal focusing of the beam on the powder bed
[0025] It will be readily appreciated that similar calibration problems arise with other radiation sources (e.g. EBM sources)

[0068] Calibration Kit

[0069] Figure 4 and Figure 5 The calibration kit is a kit that includes a reference calibration plate 7 and a launch support 8 .

[0070] It also includes inspection means 9 involving optical sensors.

[0071] The reference plate 7 is a plate with a plurality of visible reference marks 10 .

[0072] These reference marks 10 are distributed across the board at known and checked positions. For example, they may be located near the points of a 65x65 matrix intended to be fully or partially scanned by the power radiation source during calibration. Of course, other distributions are also possible.

[0073] At each reference point, the visible markings of the marker 10 are defined by two orthogonal axes, the intersection of which corresponds to the reference point and defines an orthogonal frame of reference on the plate.

[0074] The emission support 8 itself is made of a strip of material sensitive to the radiation beam.

[0075] This support 8 ha...

Abstract

The invention relates to an assembly for calibrating a head system of a power radiation source of an additive manufacturing device, the assembly comprising: a calibration plate that has a plurality ofreference markings, and a firing support made of at least one material that is sensitive to the radiation from the source, said support leaving the reference markings of the calibration plate visiblewhen it is installed thereupon, characterized in that the firing support comprises a plurality of windows which are distributed so as to lie over the different reference markings on the calibration plate and leave them visible when the firing support is installed on the calibration plate. The invention also relates to a method for calibrating such a system.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to selective additive manufacturing. [0002] More specifically, the invention relates to the calibration of the control of the head system of the power radiation source of an additive manufacturing device. Background technique [0003] Selective additive manufacturing involves the creation of three-dimensional objects by consolidating selected areas in successive layers of powdered material (metal powder, ceramic powder). The consolidated regions correspond to continuous cross-sections of the three-dimensional object. Consolidation takes place layer by layer by total or partial selective melting using a focused radiation source such as a light source (e.g. a high power laser) or a particle beam source (e.g. EBM or "Electron electron beam in the technique of "beam melting"). [0004] In the following, reference will be made primarily to light sources (for example as used in SLM or "selective laser melting" according to ...
