Abstract

The invention provides a method for improving drought or / and cold stress resistance of loquat seedlings. A melatonin solution with a specific concentration is adopted for irrigation treatment before the loquat seedlings are subjected to drought or / and cold stress resistance, and a result shows that melatonin treatment obviously improves endogenous melatonin content and fluorescence parameters in loquat seedling leaves. The content of SOD, POD, CAT and APX in the loquat seedling leaves is remarkably increased, meanwhile, the content of MDA is reduced, and the integrity of leaf tissue structuresis maintained. According to a research discovery, the melatonin solution with the specific concentration can not only improve the drought stress resistance of the loquat seedlings, but also the coldstress resistance of the loquat seedlings can be improved. Planting process is low in investment cost and high in seedling survival rate, so that the promotion speed and efficiency of new varieties are increased, the survival rate of offspring in the crossbreeding process is increased, the process and efficiency of breeding new varieties are accelerated, and the method has important strategic significance for sustainable development of the loquat industry in China.
