Problems solved by technology

However, due to the inherent wavelength sensitivity and temperature sensitivity of the resonant structure, the logic unit has high requirements for the accuracy of the wavelength and the stability of the ambient temperature. At the same time, multiple wavelengths are required to achieve multi-channel operations. The requirements are also higher
In addition, there is also a logical operation unit based on a dual-arm interference structure, but it has disadvantages such as large device volume

Embodiment Construction

[0013] The present invention will be further described below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings and specific embodiments.

[0014] The present invention provides an XOR and XOR logic operation unit based on optical mode, the logic operation unit uses the modulation signal of the adjustable mode converter to represent two logic operand variables, and expresses by the presence or absence of the corresponding mode in the output result The logical variable of the operation result uses an electrical signal or an optical signal to simultaneously complete the exclusive-or and exclusive-or operations of the two operands.

[0015] like figure 1 , the first embodiment of the logic operation unit of the present invention, the first embodiment is an embodiment on the silicon-optical phase-change material platform, which is composed of sequentially connected multimode input waveguides 1, the first optical mode conversion device 2. The second optical mode conversion device 3 and...

Abstract

The invention discloses an exclusive OR and exclusive NOR logic operation unit based on an optical mode. The exclusive OR and exclusive NOR logic operation unit comprises a set of input waveguide andoutput waveguide which support multi-mode transmission and two sets of dynamic mode conversion devices which are controlled by operand signals. A single-mode input light source serves as a carrier andsequentially passes through the two sets of mode conversion devices, whether the mode conversion devices convert an input mode into another mode or not is controlled through each operand, and the component of each mode is detected at the output waveguide, and exclusive OR and exclusive NOR logic operation results can be obtained at the same time through one-time light propagation and collection. The logic operation unit can use different waveguide modes to calculate within the same wavelength, so that the cost of the whole optical logic loop is reduced; and meanwhile, the method is insensitive to input wavelength and ambient temperature change. The unit can be realized by adopting various material platforms, and parallel logic operation of electro-optic and all-optical exclusive OR and exclusive NOR can be realized according to different modulation modes.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the technical field of optical logic operation and signal processing, and relates to an XOR and XOR logic operation unit based on an optical mode. Background technique [0002] The two logical operations of XOR and XOR have important applications in many occasions such as information encoding and decoding, signal parity check, data encryption and decryption, image processing, and random number generation. With these applications, the demand for larger information capacity, higher integration, and massive data processing has led to a significant temperature rise in the operating environment of the system. The use of optical methods to realize logic operations has the characteristics of low heat generation, high speed, and small delay. It is a new signal processing method with potential. Therefore, the practice of processing by optical means is gradually gaining favor. Due to the inherently high bandwidth and high parallelism o...
