The invention discloses UV hydrogel with shape memory characteristics and a preparation method thereof.The UV hydrogel is prepared from, by mass, 1-5 parts of a component A, 1-5 parts of a component B, 0.4-0.6 part of a photoinitiator, 0-0.015 part of a silane coupling agent and 2-4 parts of fumed silica, and the component A is polyethylene glycol dimethacrylate with the structure shown in the formula 1; the molecular weight is 200-5000; and the component B is selected from acrylate with a structure as shown in a formula 2 and double bond functionality of 1-10 and / or an organic compound with astructure as shown in a formula 3. The UV hydrogel is fast to cure, has good adhesion to a glass material, forms a large number of hydrogen bonds among molecules after encountering water, locally curls, spontaneously peels off when encountering water, has no residue, and is easy to clean after being peeled off.
