The invention discloses a temporary file placeholder storage method, which is executed in computing equipment and comprises the following steps of receiving a request of a user, and determining a target temporary file needing to be stored; determining a current detection value based on the first step value; checking whether a digital name corresponding to the current detection value is included in digital names of a currently stored temporary file or not; if yes, determining a next detection numerical value based on the current detection numerical value and the first step value, and checking whether digital names of a currently stored temporary file include a digital name corresponding to the next detection numerical value or not; if not, determining that at least one target numerical value exists between the previous detection numerical value and the current detection numerical value; and naming the target temporary file based on the determined target numerical value so as to store the target temporary file based on the digital name corresponding to the target numerical value.
