Abstract

A policy control method for multi-path transmission and related equipment, in which user equipment (UE) supporting multi-path transmission performs service message transmission through at least two transmission substreams, the method comprising the step that: a policy decision network element receives association information of the at least two transmission substreams sent by a communication opposite terminal, the associated information comprises stream identifiers of the at least two transmission sub-streams; the policy decision network element determines a resource modification policy of at least one transmission sub-stream in the at least two transmission sub-streams according to the association information; and the policy decision network element sends the resource modification policy to a forwarding plane network element corresponding to the at least one transmission sub-stream, so that the forwarding plane network element corresponding to the at least one transmission sub-stream performs resource modification according to the resource modification policy. By implementing the embodiment of the invention, the signaling processing quantity can be reduced when resource modification is carried out under multipath transmission, and the consumption of resources is reduced.
