Abstract

The invention discloses a carrier dispersion type all-optical switch based on an asymmetric metasurface. The basic structure of the all-optical switch is a metasurface array formed by periodically arranged two-dimensional asymmetric semiconductor particle structure units. Under the irradiation of pump light, a carrier dispersion effect occurs in a semiconductor particle material, the resonant wavelength of the all-optical switch device shifts due to the great increase of photon-generated carrier density, and peak-valley (or valley-peak) conversion of a characteristic frequency spectrum occurs near the working wavelength of signal light. Through the above process, a pump light beam completes on / off control of a signal light beam, and the all-optical switch which realizes light control by light is obtained. Meanwhile, the invention further provides a method for effectively reducing the pump light intensity of the all-optical switch.
